The Zabūr (also Zabur, Arabic: الزَّبُورُ) is, according to Islam, the holy book of David, one of the holy books revealed by God before the Quran, alongside others such as the Tawrāh (Torah) and the Injīl (Gospel). Muslim tradition maintains that the Zabur mentioned in the Quran is the Psalms of David.[1]

Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].
Christian apologist Karl Gottlieb Pfander suggested that the Qur'an's reference to Zabur actually refers to the third division of the Hebrew Scriptures, known as the Writings or Ketuvim, a broader grouping of Jewish holy books encompassing the Psalms and other collections of Hebrew literature and poetry.[12]
IsMuhammad Mentioned in the Old Testament? Christ'scoming is foretold in the Old Testament in many different places. If, therefore, the Most High God intended to send into the world a prophetfar greater than Christ, we should find predictions concerning this futureprophet in the Old Testament, and still more in the New Testament. It is natural, therefore, for Muslims to seek such prophecies in the Bibleregarding the founder of their religion. IfMuhammad was the Seal of the Prophets--the person on whose account Godcreated the universe--it would be very strange for God not to have toldus to look for and obey the coming Prophet. Those who believe inMuhammad tell us that clear and unmistakable predictions regarding himare found in the Bible. Muslims also say that other predictions ofMuhammad's coming were once there, but were removed by Jews and Christians. Theappeal to the Bible in this matter implies that the Bible is (1) divinelyinspired, and (2) uncorrupted. Otherwise o\, of what use would itbe to refer to such a book as authoritative? If our Muslim friendsadmit these two points, then an inquiry into the alleged biblical propheciesregarding Muhammad may be very interesting and instructive. But ifthey do not admit these points of fact, it is difficult to see what useit is for them to refer to the Bible at all in seeking proof of their prophet'smission. Of course, many learned Muslims--all, in fact, who havecarefully studied the matter--do admit these two facts.Genesis49:10
Furthermore, the context here rules out any interpretation of the word as referring to Muhammad. The entire book of the Song of Solomon is a love poem between a man and a woman, with erotic phrases. The context is far removed from referring to the Prophet who would come at the end of time, namely Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
Nevertheless, the fact that there is the foretelling of Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in the earlier books is something that is proven and established, as Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
Proving that does not require twisting the meaning of some words in a manner contrary to their meaning in Hebrew and contrary to the context in which they appear. The scholars have written books dealing with this topic, compiling the prophecies mentioned in the Old Testament and the New Testament, and even in the books of other religions, which you may see in the following books:
Jesus, peace be upon him, spoke the Gospel in his native language which is Aramaic. The earliest translations were in Greek. It is very very interesting that the Greek word which was eventually translated into English as "Comforter" (Helper) is "Parqaleeta" and the meaning of this word is "one whom people praise exceedingly". It does not mean "the Holy Ghost" which is what we are told the so called "Comforter" means. I do not have the slightest clue as to how this meaning was given to the word Parqaleeta. What is even more fascinating is the fact that the name Muhammad has exactly the same meaning as Parqaleeta "one whom people praise exceedingly"! One of my friends wrote very beautifully in his book about the meaning of the word Muhammad: "The most praised one. He is praised upon earth and in the heavens, from the beginning to the end, by men jinn and angels, rocks and trees and animals, by prophets before him since Adam, by saints until Doomsday. As all of this cannot give him due praise, we beg God to praise him. He is the only One who truly knows the value and the mystery of His Muhammad and He is the only One who can truly praise him." The celestial name of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, is Ahmad. I will quote from the Holy Qur'an about the connection of Prophet Muhammad with the Bible as follows:
Is it possible that the numerous prophecies cited here are all individually and combined out of context misinterpretations? Is the opposite true, that such infrequently studied verses fit together consistently and clearly to point to the advent of the man who changed the course of human history, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him). Is it reasonable to conclude that all these prophecies, appearing in different books of the Bible and spoken by various prophets at different times were all coincidence? If this is so, here is another strange "coincidence"! 2ff7e9595c
